At Urban Green Farms, we’re passionate about connecting young Australians to the power of growing, eating, and living sustainably. That’s why we’re proud to endorse and collaborate with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RASNSW) on their exciting new initiative — 🌱 Ag in a Box: Healthy Harvest, a free hands-on educational resource for primary schools.
About Ag in a Box: Healthy Harvest
Developed by RAS Education, this engaging program takes students on a journey from soil health to healthy eating, helping them understand where their food comes from and how it reaches their lunchbox.
Ag in a Lunch Box; Healthy Harvest is a hands-on, multi-sensory learning experience
designed to highlight the essential role agriculture plays in the journey from paddock to
plate—or more fittingly, paddock to lunch box.
As Australians, we are incredibly fortunate to live in a country where food is not only abundant but also of exceptional quality. This abundance, however, is no accident. It’s the result of the hard work, resilience and innovation of our farmers—quiet heroes who keep our bodies nourished and minds sharp.
Through this program, students will not only explore where their food comes from but also
reflect on the importance of thankfulness.

The Ag in a Lunch Box resource includes:
Interactive growing kits
Taste-testing activities to explore fresh produce
Quizzes and games to reinforce learning
Curriculum-aligned lessons across STEM, Science, PDHPE, English, and HSIE
Through these activities, students get to experience real-world learning, cultivating curiosity about agriculture, sustainability, and nutrition.
Physical resource boxes are limited, and priority is given to NSW schools, but every school that applies will receive access to the digital resource pack—so no one misses out!

Our Partnership with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW
Urban Green Farms is honoured to collaborate with the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, an organisation dedicated to celebrating and advancing agriculture, innovation, and education across the state.
Through their programs, the RAS helps schools and communities:
Develop stronger agricultural literacy
Inspire students to consider careers in agri-food industries
Support teachers with curriculum-aligned resources
Bridge the gap between urban and rural communities
Our collaboration with the RASNSW has continued to flourish in exciting ways. In 2024, Urban Green Farms was named the Agricultural Innovator of the Year, earning the opportunity to exhibit for five years at the Sydney Royal Easter Show within the Woolworths Ag Discovery Pavilion. Here, we showcase our Happy Soils range and Urban Green Farms systems, giving students and families hands-on experiences with sustainable growing and composting.
Why We Support Ag in a Box
The Ag in a Box: Healthy Harvest program aligns perfectly with our mission — empowering schools to teach sustainability through action. By combining food education, agricultural awareness, and wellbeing, this initiative gives children the tools to build lifelong healthy habits and a deeper respect for nature.
“At Urban Green Farms, we believe education is the seed for change,” says Andrew Meseha, Founder and CEO of Urban Green Farms.“Programs like Ag in a Lunch Box bring sustainability to life for students. They don’t just learn about food systems — they experience them. We’re proud to support the RAS in inspiring young Australians to think differently about food, farming, and the environment.”
As we continue to grow our collaboration with the RASNSW, we’re proud to support their vision of connecting every student to the land, no matter where they live.
