Sustainable Education is more important than ever.

This year has shown us more than ever that we need to rethink sustainability. We need to reduce our human footprint and find innovative ways to support the environment. It does lead us to the conversation around how important sustainability in schools and the education sector will be for students and future generations, who will ultimately need to reverse the damage and save the planet.

This year alone we have seen, ravaging fires, a global pandemic and a break down of our supply chains, that reportedly will impact our ability to supply produce. We can only imagine what things will look like in 2030 if we don't make some huge changes today.

How do our future generations begin to tackle these global issues? STEM Education is fast becoming important with key disciplines in science, technology, engineering and mathematics which covers a wide range of lateral thinking and skills, which are increasingly in demand in our rapidly changing world. STEM skills and knowledge are important for all stages of our learning, jobs and everyday life. This is now easier than ever with an abundance of STEM grants available.

Schools are now starting to adopt more sustainable practices through supporting sustainable school farms and projects to help educate students on the important need for urban farming. Urban Green Farms is leading Australia's education projects to help bring to life means to be self sufficient and grow food. It also helps with accountability and an understanding of agriculture and its importance in a functioning society.

Teaching the next generations about food security, agriculture, urban farming, supply chains and science subjects including biology help cover topics such as pH levels, photosynthesis, regenerative agriculture, ecosystems and environmental studies.
