HOW DOES THE FISHY STUFF WORK?

Aquaponics involves breaking down toxic ammonia and converting it into nutritious plant food called nitrates. Thankfully, nitrites attract yet another type of bacteria called nitrospiras which then convert into nitrites – an excellent food source for plants. This nitrite release completes the aquaponic cycle, and once stabilised, will ensure ammonia levels are kept at a minimum whilst providing maximum nutrition for the plants.
